It’s been a few years since the payoff of Xtreme 4×4’s Toxic Truggy, and since then, we’ve had several fans ask what’s happened to the project.
First off, let’s get one thing clear — it HAS NOT been crushed. In fact, we would NEVER do that to ANY of our projects. (Now if anyone ever asks you that again, just refer back to this blog post.)
So, what happened to it? Well, after catching up with Ian earlier today, the production crew took a few quick shots of the modded S10.
As you can see in the photos below, we’ve kept it in the garage with some of our other Xtreme projects here at PowerBlock. Obviously, it hasn’t been crushed, though it did take a good hit from a tree during an off-road incident.
Oh, and Ian said he hasn’t decided what to do with the project just yet, so stay tuned …
Take a look at the video above. After shooting the payoff show, Ian had some more fun on the trail, but he didn’t realize the damage he had done after hitting a tree. This amateur video captures his reaction. Check it out!
A nationwide team of auto techs drop by the Xtreme 4×4 shop to transform a viewer’s beat-up TJ into a fully-loaded dual-purpose rig! The build continues with stainless exhaust, a custom roll cage, and high-tech axle assemblies.

When a PowerBlock viewer took us for a ride in his wobbly, lifted Jeep TJ, we understood why it hadn’t been driven in two years. We said we’d take a look at it, but what our viewer didn’t know was that we’re completely rebuilding it for Search & Restore – Xtreme 4×4 edition!
The crews who volunteered were AutoZone commercial customers who won a contest to come to the PowerBlock and show off their skills. A special thanks goes to Airtex Fuel Pumps, who offered volunteers and parts!
Tune in at 9 a.m. EST, Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, on Spike TV for Part 1 of Search & Restore – Xtreme 4×4 edition!
Courtney welcomes AutoZone Senior Vice President for Commercial Larry Roesel to PowerBlock for an announcement you Jeep guys will especially love! Ian Johnson will pop in for some extra build details and our Xtreme 4×4 special begins June 1 & 2nd. Plus, this weekend we’ll feature a father-son build of a ’66 C-10 by Joe and Aron DuRard. Aron, who is only 13, was involved in every aspect of the resto.

This was probably one of the craziest stunts we’ve pulled on any of our PowerBlock shows. On this episode of Xtreme 4×4, host Ian Johnson smashes his boss’ Dodge Neon with our Military Bobbed Deuce because … Well, he’s Ian Johnson, and this is Xtreme 4×4. In the long run, we think Ian did him a favor.
On a NEW episode of Xtreme 4×4, it’s down to the details on our “buggy in a box” build! Forty-two-inch tires, air struts and full hydraulic steering bring our crawler closer to the trail. Plus, what’s the perfect wedding gift for a wheelin’ husband? Newlywed Nicole surprises her husband with the help of Ian on Driveway Rescue!
