Toyota will stage the world debut of the redesigned 2014 4Runner mid-size SUV on Saturday, April 27 at 1:15 p.m. PDT at the 2013 Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, Calif., near Palm Springs. The event marks the automaker’s first-ever public reveal at a major music festival.

As part of the reveal celebration, Toyota invites fans to enter a sweepstakes from April 25-29 for a chance to win one of six guitars autographed by Dierks Bentley. Information and official rules can be found on the Toyota USA Facebook page and at

Toyota disputes Ford Focus title for world’s best-selling car in 2012

Yesterday it was reported that the Ford Focus was the world’s best-selling car, but another automaker disagrees.

Data from R.L. Polk & Co. stated that a total of 1,020,410 Ford Focuses were sold worldwide last year, and the Toyota Corolla came in second with with 872,774 cars sold.

However, according to, Mike Michaels, the U.S. vice president of communications for Toyota, said in an e-mailed statement that Toyota sold 1.16 million Corolla nameplate vehicles globally in 2012, and that different versions of the name weren’t counted.

“Polk came up short by nearly 300,000 units. The discrepancy is glaring, and we have requested clarification,” Michaels was quoted by Bloomberg.
