Don’t try this at home!
It’s not a drive-in drink, but a one of a kind, drop dead gorgeous 1953 Cadillac! This weekend on PowerBlock Courtney welcomes the builder of this amazing custom, Chris Ryan of Ryan’s Rod & Kustom, located in Ninety Six, South Carolina. Owner Steve White brought Chris and his team literally baskets and boxes of parts, and not all for a ’53 Caddy.
They went to work and it’s nosed, decked, and shaved. It all sits on a Fat Man Fabrications chassis and is powered by a GM ZZ-383 crate motor with a wild fuel injection setup from Imagine Injection. The 20” wheels are extremely unique in that they look like a 15” Sabre wheel, but the outer 2 ½” of the aluminum wheel is painted to look like a whitewall. The interior is by Hot Rod Interiors in Mooresville, N.C. and it has a “Sand” colored glove-soft leather interior, Mercedes ‘Root Beer” carpet and a dash that has been smoothed and filled using the original gauges, updated with new electronics. The striking color is PPG “Light Candy Root Beer”.
Chris is practically family as he hand his guys have volunteered on Search & Restore and MuscleCar.
See “Root Beer Float” on PowerBlock October 19 & 20. For more on Chris and his other works of art check out RyansRodandKustom.com

This may be one of the wildest rides we’ve had on PowerBlock! This weekend check out Magnaflow’s Revolver; a 1949 Chevy 3100 unlike any other!
Magnaflow Senior Manager Richard Waitis says he came up with the concept during a layover, so he sketched it out on a cocktail napkin. The design eventually hit the hands of Chip Foose, who transformed into the real thing.
When he came up with the concept, Richard wanted to answer a very simple question: What does it sound like? So, the truck was built with four different muffler systems that they’re able to switch through to hear what each muffler sounds like. It was assembled by CW Restorations and also features a Chevy Performance E-Rod engine and a TCI chassis. It’s got Wilwood brakes, Foose wheels, Pirelli tires and Classic Industry body panels. The custom interior is from Bill Dunn’s One Stop Shop. The paint choice is BASF Glasurit 90 line, color by Chip Foose in Sioux Red.
See it on PowerBlock February 23 & 24. For more check out Magnaflow.com.

This weekend on PowerBlock, we’re going behind the scenes as Bruce Willis is back as John McClane! And this time the New York City cop is going global in the new sequel, “A Good Day To Die Hard,” set in Russia and opening February 14. The film introduces McClane’s estranged son, Jack, and the two have to team up and stop the Moscow underworld. Courtney welcomes Hollywood stunt coordinator Steve Davison, who says the movie is one big car chase, just what we like! They destroyed 135 cars in the process including custom made MRAPS based on real 30,000 lb. Mine Resistant Ambush Protected troop transporters. Of the four they built, one is on a trophy truck chassis with a 550 horsepower Dodge engine to perform the jump sequences. See how Royal Purple plays a role February 9 and 10 on PowerBlock, and check out the new movie trailer below!
This weekend on PowerBlock, we hand over the keys of the Loctite “Putting America Back To Work” truck and trailer package. Steve is a handyman who really could use a new Ford F-150 and trailer. He not only does handyman work for hire, he also helps his local senior citizens with odd jobs around the house.
Loctite will donate Steve’s winning bid of almost $42,000 to help put Americans back to work. The truck was upgraded by Trucks! and the trailer is loaded with tools and lots of Loctite products! Hear how Steve’s wife entered the last minute winning bid on PowerBlock January 26th & 27th. If you’re in the Albany, NY area you can contact Steve at HammerWorks-org.webs.com
