myPowerBlock member Bill Fehling was kind enough to share this video of a Monte Carlo SS showing off by doing a burnout. We’re not sure if this is the same Monte Carlo that belongs to Bill, but by looking at his page, it looks like he’s a fan of the Chevy model.
Some of you may know that the Monte Carlo was introduced in 1970 as a two-door luxury vehicle that went trough six design generations. But for those who wanted something to turn heads with looks and power, the Monte Carlo SS package also available. It was originally packed with a Turbo-Jet 454 with a four-barrel carburetor that helped put out 360 horses and 500 pound-feet of torque. And if you got the 454 package, already priced at $420, you were also required to have the Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, which added another $200+ to the cost. Chances are, if you were willing to pay for the power, you didn’t care about cost.
Big thanks to Bill for sharing his video with us! If you would like us to feature your video in our blog, post it to www.mypowerblock.com!
