Chrysler delay’s 2014 Jeep Cherokee media preview

Chrysler delay's 2014 Jeep Cherokee media preview

Chrysler has told The Detroit Free Press that it’s delaying the media’s preview of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee because of electronic issues controlling the engine and nine-speed transmission.

The automaker said in a statement that during the final weeks of testing, the company has discovered an opportunity to further improve the power train calibration of the Cherokee.

Though Chrysler is delaying the media preview, the company added that they will still plan on shipping the 2014 Cherokees to dealers by September.

What do you think about the industry’s first nine-speed transmission going on the 2014 Cherokee? Leave a comment below, or send us a tweet to @PowerBlockTV.

Chrysler recalls 2013 Ram pickup trucks, 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Though Chrysler had announced recalls on the 2013 Ram and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, no accidents, injuries or deaths related to the affected vehicles have been reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

From Chrysler:

CONSEQUENCE:
A disabled ESC system may result in loss of directional control, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the ESC module software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler’s recall campaign number is N37.

Without properly functioning parking lamps these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, “Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.”

CONSEQUENCE:

CONSEQUENCE:
The incorrect attaching bolt may break or fall out, resulting in the vehicle suddenly pulling to one side, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the track bar fasteners, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler’s recall campaign number is N41.

Daughter saves dad after Jeep collapses on him

22-year-old Rachel Simmons came to her father’s rescue after her Jeep Liberty fell on him while he was changing the vehicle’s brakes.

According to CBS Boston, the jacks collapsed and one of the Jeep’s wheel rotors landed on his leg.

Rachel ran outside and was able to lift the Jeep off of his leg. “It was just the adrenaline rushing right through my body. I don’t know if I would have been able to do it otherwise,” she said in the story.

It’s hard to say why people find entertainment in jumping railroad tracks. Not only is it not safe and can be dangerous, but most of these jump videos hardly show anything impressive.

Female off-roaders lend helping hand to stuck truck

Female off-roaders lend helping hand to stuck truck

It’s great to see women take part in the off road scene, but it’s pretty embarrassing if they have to pull you out when you get stuck.

And if you watch until the end, you’ll see that the guys in this video obviously didn’t learn anything …
