Hennessey Venom GT sets new record for World’s Fastest Production Car

On Valentine’s Day, driver Brian Smith drove the 1,244 horsepower Hennessey Venom GT down the Kennedy’s Space Center’s 3.2-mile Space Shuttle landing, hitting a speed of 270.49.

And it was still accelerating when Smith ran out of room and had to stop, Fox News said.

It officially broke the record set by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which held the previous record at 269.86 mph.

2014 Corvette C7 to get Hennessey upgrades to yield incredible horsepower

The talent at Hennesseey has done it again. They’ve recently released their plans for upgrading C7 Corvette, starting with the 2014 Stingray.

Hennessey said that there will be four different upgrade programs. The following prices include professional installation:

• HPE600 Supercharged ($12,495) 600 hp @ 6,300 rpm
• HPE700 Supercharged ($18,450) 700 hp @ 6,300 rpm
• HPE800 Twin-Turbo ($54,950) 800 hp @ 6,300 rpm
• HPE1000 Twin-Turbo ($67,950) 1,100 hp @ 6,300 rpm

Depending on how much power you can handle (or afford), upgrades may consist of an Eaton supercharger, custom CNC-porter factory cylinder heads, proprietary intake and fueling systems and re-tuned engine control unit.

Hennessey strives to get 1000 horsepower out of performance upgrades

The 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray comes stock with a 450-hp 6.2-liter V8 under the hood, but one performance company is promising it can make 1,000 horsepower out of the Chevy sports car.

According to Fox News, Texas-based Hennessey Performance wants to add twin turbochargers, an intercooler, high-flow cylinder heads, a custom cat-back exhaust system and several other high-performance parts to add the extra power.

The company told Fox that the mods and labor will cost around $70,000, and they’ve already taken two orders.
