Kit Ferrari starts fire inside home’s garage

The first line of this story we read started with three words that caught our attention.

“A wannabe Ferrari …”

If a “wannabe Ferrari” makes the news, you can assume it’s not for anything good.

Last Friday in a small town in British Columbia, Canada, a “wannabe Ferrari” caught fire inside of a garage. The two-door, four-cylinder Pontiac Fiero ignited while its battery was being charged.

Fire Chief Andrew Oliver said, “The guy said it was a Ferrari, but it was a kit car. A poor man’s Ferrari … he didn’t even have the big engine in it either.”

According to canada.com, not only did they fail to find a super car, they couldn’t find enough water to stop the blaze from spreading. Apparently the small community consists of just 15 homes and has a very small water supply.

Unfortunately for the home owner, not only did he lose his home and his kit car, but the story said he’d have to pay for the cost of the firefighting service, which was estimated to be in the tens of thousands.

The story didn’t report any injuries.

Water Bomber extinguishes fire

A fire was ignited after an accident between a grader and a transport truck on the Trans-Labrador Highway in Canada. Because of the remote location, a water bomber was sent out to extinguish the blaze.

Sounds like that Ferrari on fire from earlier today could have used this. (See that clip here: http://blog.powerblocktv.com/ferrari-found-on-fire-in-parking-lot-in-boca-raton/)
