The 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Convertible once owned and driven by Steve McQueen is going to auction. You may remember McQueen’s character maneuvering this car in the 1980 flick “The Hunter.”
According to The New York Times, the car is currently owned by Rick Harrison of “Pawn Stars,” and the car will be sold without reserve.
The story said that it still has the original 92 horsepower, 216-cubic-inch 6-cylinder engine and 3-speed, column-shifted manual transmission, and is expected to fetch around $500,000.
The car features a leather interior, stainless steel reveals around the windshield, side windows and rear window, as well as stainless moldings on the front fenders and doors and the rear fender shields, the story reports. Also, the New York Times says the classic Chevy has been converted to a 12-volt electrical system and has an aftermarket stereo that was installed after McQueen took ownership of the car.
The ’51 Chevy Styleline hits the auction block March 22-24 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
