Former NASCAR driver Dick Trickle dies of self-inflicted gunshot wound
Former NASCAR racer Dick Trickle was found dead today from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Lincoln County, North Carolina, law enforcement officials have reported to multiple media outlets that the incident took place at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Highway 150 East in Boger City. Responding units found his body near his pickup truck.
Trickle was 71.
Trickle was known as “White Knight,” which made references to his SuperAmerica paint scheme, and was named 1989 NASCAR Rookie of the Year.
