The University of Northwestern Ohio races! UNOH president Dr. Jeffrey Jarvis is Courtney’s guest this weekend along with one of the school’s race cars. Located in Lima, Ohio, students can earn an automotive degree, a diesel degree, an AG degree or a high performance motorsports degree. Their training is about 70% hands-on and they can get ASE certified. The UNOH high performance motorsports program also has a race team with 30 students each year. They race all kinds of vehicles including stock cars, dragsters and 4 by 4’s. The students build the cars from the ground up and when finished, they can be pit crew, crew chief, or race car drivers. UNOH even owns their own race track, Limaland Motorsports Park. The success of the program is evident — 42 UNOH graduates are working any given weekend where NASCAR has Nationwide and Cup races. And they’re involved with all the top teams from Richard Childress Racing to Hendricks Motorsports to Penske Racing.
