If you blinked, you missed it. The limited-edition Mopar ’14 Challenger, the latest Chrysler Group LLC vehicle to come straight from the factory already upgraded with Mopar products, has sold out in just the first day after being made available to dealers.
The Mopar ’14 Challenger is the most recent limited-edition vehicle offered by the brand, continuing the success of the Mopar ’10 Challenger, Mopar ’11 Charger, Mopar ’12 300 and Mopar ’13 Dart in demonstrating how owners can personalize their rides with Mopar products — even before driving away from the dealership. With only 100 built, the Mopar ’14 Challenger is the rarest limited-production Dodge Challenger offered to date.
“The very high demand for the Mopar ’14 Challenger spotlights the success of our limited-edition, Mopar-modified vehicles, and also clearly demonstrates the passion our customers have for personalizing their rides,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “Whether during or after the ordering process, Mopar is there to help put a personal touch on customers’ rides.”

Many unique features contributed to the Mopar ’14 Challenger’s quick sellout, including two exterior color options and three Mopar Blue stripe options. A 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 engine also rumbles beneath the Satin Black Shaker hood scoop, while exterior design elements include 20 x 8-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels with Mopar center caps, a unique Black Vapor grille surround, a black fuel-filler door, a Satin Black deck-lid spoiler with Gloss Black “Mopar Design” badge and “Mopar” quarter-glass decals.
The interior is upgraded with premium leather seats featuring Mopar Blue accent thread and Mopar Omega M logos embroidered on the seat backs. Other unique touches for the limited-edition ride include a serialized instrument panel plaque, “Mopar” branded key fobs, a custom-crafted personalized owner’s kit with a Mopar ’14 brochure and much, much more.
Customers ordering the Mopar ’14 showed they still wanted the rarest limited production Dodge Challenger offered to date with additional customization. Of the 100 orders placed on the first day, 52 customers chose the Pitch Black exterior paint version, while 48 opted for the newly offered Bright White option. The traditional Shaker stripe proved to be the most popular graphic chosen for their ride, followed by the bodyside decal and then the rocker stripe. Top Custom Shop options chosen were hood pins, Mopar Performance badges, quad exhaust tips and the Challenger monogrammed car cover. The top-ordered Mopar Performance part was the Cat-back exhaust to complement the Shaker intake. Although all 100 Mopar ’14 Challenger vehicles have been spoken for, enthusiasts can still build their own similarly personalized and unique, one-of-one Dodge Challenger.
Customers taking delivery of a new Dodge Challenger can have their ride personalized in a similar way to the sold out version right at their local dealership. Existing owners who have their own Challenger pride and joy at home also can have their vehicle updated with Mopar parts and accessories to make it similar to the sold out version.
Many of the up-fitted items for the Dodge Challenger are offered through Mopar’s vast catalog of parts and accessories available at Mopar.com or an authorized dealership. Among the products found on the Mopar ’14 that are available for customization are:

When Chrysler started working on its Turbine Car more than 50 years ago, only 55 of them were built – five prototypes and 50 “production” cars; however, the idea really didn’t go anywhere.
You may find one in a museum, but it’s more rare to see one on the street.
The one seen here ran at almost 45,000 RPMs, and according to the YouTube description, it could run on just about any type of fuel.

Chrysler Group LLC will conduct three recalls affecting approximately 1.2 million trucks, though as many as 726,000 may not need repair.
The campaigns target an estimated 453,000 vehicles with steering-system tie rods that may have been misaligned during assembly or steering-system service.
Chrysler Group is casting the net wider than necessary to identify those vehicles that require repair. Any found to have suspect tie-rod assemblies will have those components replaced at no cost to customers.
One recall will inspect an estimated 842,400 model-year 2003-2008 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks to find approximately 116,000 repaired with tie-rod assemblies that could become misaligned. This condition could lead to component fracture and steering loss.
Two additional campaigns are being conducted to capture those vehicles known to have tie-rod assemblies linked to previous recalls. They comprise 294,000 model-year 2008-2012 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, chassis cabs and 2008 Ram 1500 4×4 Mega Cabs; plus 43,500 model-year 2008-2012 Ram 4500 and 5500 4×4 chassis cabs.
Chrysler Group is aware of six accidents and two injuries involving model-year 2008-2012 2500 and 3500 trucks and one additional accident with no injuries involving the remaining models.
Affected customers will be notified by mail next month with instructions for making service appointments.
Work could begin as early as January. Customers who own affected 4500 and 5500 models may bring their vehicles to Chrysler Group dealers for interim service because replacement parts may not be available until late 2014.
Interim service would involve component inspections and, if necessary, realignment.
Approximately 968,000 vehicles of the total number affected are in the U.S.; 157,000 are in Canada; 37,100 in Mexico and 18,000 are outside the NAFTA region.

Today Chrysler Group LLC released sketches of select Mopar-modified vehicles that are headed for the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. The show takes place Nov. 5-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“We developed these Mopar-modified vehicles to inspire ultimate customization,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “With catalogs full of proven, quality-tested performance parts and accessories, Mopar is a one-stop shop for factory-engineered personalization.”
The company will display 20 Mopar-modified Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram, Fiat and SRT vehicles at the show in a 15,300 square-foot exhibit. In addition to custom vehicles, the company will highlight Jeep Performance Parts developed by its newly created Mopar Off-Road Division.

August 17, 2013 , Woodward Dream Cruise, Mich. – Ten years ago, the Ram Truck Brand introduced the Rumble Bee, a popular model inspired by the Super Bee muscle car of the late ‘60s. Today, Ram unveiled a new HEMI-powered Ram 1500 Rumble Bee concept to celebrate the 10-year anniversary and the heritage of Ram’s unique truck designs that include the Lil Red Express, Warlock and Power Wagon.
“The Ram 1500 Rumble Bee continues to have a strong fan base and what better place to celebrate its 10-year anniversary than Woodward Dream Cruise,” said Reid Bigland, President and CEO – Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “There’s a lot of energy surrounding concept trucks and buzz models, and the Ram Design Team revels in creating something that is unique for our customers to enjoy.”
The Rumble Bee concept began life as a 2013 Ram 1500 R/T. Keeping with tradition, the lightweight, two-door; 2WD configuration is covered in “Drone Yellow” paint with a unique matte finish. The rare color/finish flows over the entire truck including the bumpers, flares and the Mopar ground effects kit. True to form, a new “Speed Bee” design is swathed on both sides of the truck within a gloss black stripe that fades into honeycomb. The stripe glides front to rear, around the top of the bed and over the Mopar tonneau cover to memorialize HEMI-powered vehicles of the late 1960s and early 1970s, which dominated the racing scene. Factory 22-inch wheels are replaced with gloss black, 24-inch, Vellano VRH custom rollers and a 2-inch drop provided by King Suspension enhances handing performance and appearance with the help of a reservoir shock at each wheel. The grille, hood vents, badging, fuel door and the dual exhaust tailpipes are coated in gloss black, carrying the theme on all sides.
The colors and graphics spread through the Ram R/T-based interior, featuring black and Drone Yellow leather sport mesh seats with two-tone yellow/light-grey stitching. “Rumble Bee” lettering and Ram logos adorn chairs, floor mats and door bolsters. The interior center-piece is an actual amber-encased bee mounted into the 8-speed rotary shifter knob that lights up to expose a honeycomb pattern background. Two buttons below the knob control exhaust cutouts to bypass the Mopar cat-back dual-exhaust system, allowing the full sound force of a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 to escape — loud and LOUDER! The unique honeycomb pattern is shared with door trim and the dash, where a milled aluminum “10th Anniversary” commemorative badge serves as the truck’s ID.
Under hood, the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee concept houses a 5.7-liter HEMI with 395 horsepower and 407 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. The HEMI is fitted with a custom gloss yellow and black engine cover with honeycomb graphic pattern. Mopar’s cold-air intake system gives the HEMI a bump in performance and relentless torque is transferred through a 4.10 gear set for quick jumps off the line.

Chrysler Group LLC will bring more than 70 vehicles to this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise where each brand-Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram Truck, FIAT, SRT and Mopar-will wheel in some of their latest production and buzz models, along with a collection of iconic, classic cars from America’s past.
In addition to vehicles on display, each of the Chrysler Group brands will offer a variety of events to this year’s Dream Cruise. All of the Chrysler Group brands’ vehicles and activities will be located on the corner of Woodward Ave. and 13 Mile Road in Royal Oak, Mich. Hours are 4:30 p.m.-10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17.

Jeep fans can visit the brand display to check out the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk models.
Stop by the Mopar exhibit to see some the brand’s hottest customized vehicles, including the new Mopar ’13 Dart, SRT Viper and image vehicles, like the Dodge Charger Juiced unveiled at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show and the Jeep Wrangler Recon debuted at Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. To celebrate its proud heritage, Mopar will highlight its two Top Eliminator winners – a 1964 Plymouth Savoy and a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T.
Dream cruisers have the opportunity to play the Mopar brand’s new “Drag N Brag” video game, take the “Pit Crew Challenge” and enter for a chance to win $45,000 toward the purchase of any Chrysler Group vehicle, coupons for three oil changes and two tire rotations worth $75.

We launched the 2014 SRT Viper with an introductory price of $97,395, which does not include the $1,995 destination charge. The price of the 2014 SRT Viper has increased by $2,000, to $99,395. The price increase covers some additional standard equipment (HD Radio with Navigation and Uconnect Access; 900 Watt 12 Speaker Harman Kardon audio system, including 2 subwoofers; and the ParkView Back-up Camera.). The pricing for the GTS remains the same at $121,895. Also, the gas guzzler tax is $2,600.
