Carroll Shelby’s personal Mustang up for auction
The death of Carroll Shelby has, no doubt, prompted a demand for the automotive legend’s belongings.
In fact, our blog even reported about how family members even fought over over his burial and remains. (http://blog.powerblocktv.com/?p=3568)
But perhaps one of the hottest commodities that’s up for grabs at the upcoming Vicari Biloxi is a 2009 Shelby GT500KR, originally titled to Carroll Shelby and delivered to his ranch for personal use, according to foxnews.com.
It was unknown how long Shelby owned the car or how many miles it has.
According to the story, the car was sold to its current owner and has seen light use. It’s reported that it has racked up just under 1,600 miles. Fox News reports that it’s being offered with full documentation, including a copy of the original title in Shelby’s name and a bill of sale from Shelby to the current owner.
His signature is included above the glove box with a certificate of authenticity.
Vicari’s Biloxi Auction is scheduled to take place Oct. 12-13 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Shelby American built 712 GT500KRs in 2009, equipped with a 5.4-liter V8 that put out 540 horses and 510 lb. ft. of torque, as reported by Fox News.
