A couple’s son helps find, restore 1948 Plymouth his parents owned 60 years ago
Joe and Beverly Smith got married when they were 19 years old, and the first vehicle they owned together was a 1948 Plymouth Convertible. But not long after they were hitched, Joe was drafted to serve in the Korean War, and the newlyweds had to sell their prized possession.
Fast forward 60 years, and the couple is getting ready to celebrate their anniversary. Their son, Joel, decides he wants to find and restore an old Plymouth Convertible to give back to his parents as an anniversary gift.
Joel says that he searched all over the internet, and as you would imagine, it’s not a vehicle that’s easy to come by. There were only four available, and Joel was able to track it down through an expired ad on craiglist.
Take a look at the video below to see the story of Joel, his parents and the journey to restore a 60-year-old memory.
